The below-stated prices include the course(s), tests, and all applicable taxes. They do not include the price of the manual. The hard copy manual is $20.00 extra, and free access to the electronic version is provided below.
CFSC: $235
The non-restricted firearms safety course (CFSC) is made up of lectures and hands-on practical training in the safe handling of non-restricted firearms (typically shotguns and rifles used for hunting and target shooting). The course is a minimum of 8 hours in length. At the conclusion of the course, students participate in a written review and practical evaluation. Successful completion of this course is required to apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) to acquire non-restricted firearms and ammunition.
CRFSC: $235
You must be 18 years of age to take this course. The CFSC is a prerequisite to taking the restricted firearms safety course (CRFSC). The CRFSC is made up of lectures and hands-on practical training in the safe handling of restricted firearms (typically handguns). Prohibited firearms are discussed, but no actual prohibited firearms will be used during the practical training portion. The course is a minimum of 6 hours in length if you have not successfully completed the CFSC within the preceding 30 days. At the conclusion of the course, students participate in a written review and practical evaluation. Successful completion of this course is required to apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) to acquire restricted or prohibited firearms and ammunition.
Combined CFSC and CRFSC: $425
The combined restricted firearms safety course (CRFSC) and non-restricted firearms safety course (CFSC) is made up of lectures and hands-on practical training in the safe handling of non-restricted firearms (typically shotguns and rifles used for hunting and target shooting) and restricted firearms (typically handguns). Prohibited firearms are discussed, but no actual prohibited firearms will be used during the practical training portion. You must be 18 years of age to participate in the CRFSC. The course is a minimum of 8 hours in length for day 1 (CFSC) and a minimum of 4 hours for day 2 (CRFSC). At the conclusion of the course, students participate in a written review and practical evaluation. Successful completion of this course is required to apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) to acquire non-restricted, restricted, or prohibited firearms and ammunition.
